About the Space Neighbors
Welcome to the Space Neighborhood! We have been performing original music based out of Corvallis, Oregon since 2009. We play a variety of genres we lovingly refer to as “retro future classics” which include elements of funk, reggae, jazz, world, rock, and improvisational jam. We have developed a strong Corvallis area following based on the principles of universal peace, love, and sweaty ecstatic dancing. Help us bring the Space Neighbors to your neighborhood! Here is a show from the Corvallis local favorite Bombs Away Cafe. This performance is a full 2 hour power set and it’s fun to enjoy the flow of characters grooving along.. We push for a high energy show every time, whether at a house party, farmers market, club, or festival show. Every performance is about welcoming and growing the ‘Neighborhood. Recordings
We have recorded 3 albums starting with our first full length album in 2011 called Escape Pod featuring our original lineup. Over the years we expanded to include many local talents with a horn section and other lead vocalists. An EP which also included some live tracks was released in 2016 under the title Crucial Pie. In recent years the Space Neighbors have focused on an environment of improvisation and song writing as a trio. 2019 saw the release of our most recent album Which Way’s Up, featuring artwork from local guru Mushroom Kapuler. The first and last albums are located on most streaming services. You will have to find us in person if you want to taste some Crucial Pie!
